What is Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral Therapy is a light touch, noninvasive therapy that can be safely used on patients of all ages, and on those with varying degrees of pain.  It complements the body’s natural healing processes by accessing the central nervous system’s input and autonomous responses.  Whether you are in search of help in injury recovery and rehabilitation, looking for a healthful way to deal with day-to-day stress or simply interested in maintaining good health, Craniosacral Therapy is a safe and effective form of health care.

Craniosacral Therapy may be considered an important treatment choice for the following conditions:

  • Back pain
  • Headaches, migraines
  • Neck tension
  • Emotional issues and Depression
  • Insomnia
  • Vertigo
  • Thoracic Outlet Syndrome
  • Fibromyalgia
  • TMJ dysfunction

Improve Recovery Rate

In addition, Craniosacral Therapy is recommended to improve the rate of recovery from injuries such as:

Somatoemotional Release

Somatoemotional release (SER) is a type of Craniosacral treatment, aimed at releasing stored energy and emotions from the body, that occurred from trauma or injury. Trapped energy creates disruption at the cellular level and keeps the body in an injurious state. The primary goal of SER is to assist the client in moving through the trauma-related stress responses occurring in their nervous system, and to help them return to an optimal functioning state.

A typical session will make use of imagery, dialogue and directing the client's attention toward physical and emotional sensations within, rather than cognitive processing. It is an effective treatment for treating trauma and stress-related disorders, such as PTSD, emotional issues and depression.
